Scams on the Internet are growing -- and with the vast selection, it was hard to only choose ten. We've tried to soften this list with a bit of humor. But please don't let the humor make these scams seem any less serious than they really are.
On that note, check your emotional baggage before you leave the house. The first date is not the night to talk about your cheating or alcoholic ex, manic depressive parents and troubled childhood. You shouldn't be bogus, but you can save these topics for later dates when it looks like you're growing closer together. First impressions count and you don't want her to identify you with negativity on your medicals bad and fake first outing.
"Joe medicals fake you have an unpleasant body odor. Now sometimes it can be a medical condition, which is why I'm talking to you about it." It's not necessary to go into the discomfort it causes everyone else. It's obvious, otherwise he wouldn't be meeting with you. And to mention others at this point would make Joe more uncomfortable.

Indeed, I was rather alarmed when I saw an Airborne tattoo insignia in a tattoo parlor with a price tag next to it of $100. Meaning that you would not have to prove that you're ever in the military just give them the $100, and that was a little disconcerting. Of course, a tattoo parlor is under no legal obligation to check papers to make sure that they were actually in the military before they give them that tattoo.

For me, even though I'm not transcribing all day, I find things like Facebook and Twitter to be the "good news/bad news." They provide a great tool for me to stay informed. Even the searches I have programmed in my Google reader are great for staying connected. Throughout the day, these things can also be a great break away from the monotony of the day. At the same time, they can be a huge time waster if I'm not careful to watch how long I stay on each site. For home-based MTs, these are a great way to stay connected; just don't let it become like the office MT who takes a 15 minute break and ends up coming back an hour later!
